The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in an industrial street in Alawi neighbourhood, central Baghdad injuring two civilians and damaging a civilian car.

Basra

A roadside bomb targeted a high ranking officer in 14 July Street in the centre of Basra City Monday morning. The bomb had been planted just outside the police officer's house. The explosion also injured his young son and one of his colleagues.

Babil

A university teacher driving his car in northern Babil was hit by the U.S. Military, said Iraqi Police. No further details were released and no comment was available from the U.S. Militaery at time of publication.

Kirkuk

- A roadside bomb detonated in the Hawija district southwest of Kirkuk on Monday, killing one of the insurgents trying to plant it and wounding two others. Police arrested the survivors and confiscated their weapons and ammunition.
