The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


Three people (two civilians and a policeman) were injured by two roadside bombs in Salman Faiq Street in Karrada neighborhood in downtown Baghdad around 7 p.m.


A policeman was killed and two others were injured when a suicide bomber wears an explosive belt threw grenade upon police checkpoint when he tried to attack Sheikh Hasnawi Efan, the head Sheikh of Bo Issa tribe in south Fallujah west of Baghdad around 3 a.m. the police shot the suicide bomber dead.
