This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


Around 12 p.m. a roadside bomb exploded in downtown Mosul targeting a police vehicle causing no casualties. After the gathering of people, a second bomb exploded killing four people and injuring seven.

Gunmen killed a candidate for the provincial election while he was in downtown Mosul. The police chased the gunmen and killed one of them.

Five people were killed and 45 others were injured by a parked car bomb near a market area in Sinjar city west of Mosul.
