Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Tuesday 30 December 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


-The U.S. military reported indirect fire on the Green Zone on Tuesday but had no further information to release on.

- Police found two dead bodies in Baghdad today. One was found in Binok on the Rusafa bank, the east bank of the Tigris River, and one was found in Hurriyah in Karkh on the west side of the Tigris River.


- Gunmen killed a policeman in front of his house in Rashidiyah in Mosul on Monday.

- Gunmen killed a policeman in Suq al Shareen in downtown Mosul on Tuesday afternoon.

- A suicide car bomber targeted a police patrol in Ayadhiyah (west of Mosul) on Tuesday afternoon. Four policemen were wounded.
