The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- Around 7:30 a.m. a roadside bomb exploded near Al Saada bakery in Al Ameen neighborhood as a bus passed by killing one civilian and injuring five others.

- Around 10:30 a.m. a mortar shell slammed into Al Fdheliyah neighborhood near a checkpoint for the Iraqi national police injuring two policemen and three civilians.

- Iraqi police found one dead body in Baghdad in Al Bayaa neighborhood.


- Around 11 a.m. Gunmen killed a tribal leader in the supporting council, government sponsored councils, and three cousins were with him near Jalawla north east of Baquba.
