Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq-Wednesday 5 November 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- Around 6 pm a suicide car bomber detonated near one of the police check point on the main road that leads to the Baghdad international Airport (BIAP) in western Baghdad. Four people were killed (including 2 policemen) and 9 others were injured (including 3 policemen).

- Around 8 pm a roadside bomb detonated the Sakhra restaurant in Palestine Street (east Baghdad). Three people were injured.


- Police found one dead body in the New Mosul neighborhood in Mosul city on Tuesday night.

- A roadside bomb detonated in Al-Qadisiyah neighborhood (downtown Mosul). One person was killed and 3 others were injured.

- Gunmen killed a policeman in Karama neighborhood in Mosul city.

- Gunmen killed a policeman in Borsa neighborhood in Mosul city.


- Police found two dead bodies (man and woman) in Riyadh town (west of Kirkuk) on Tuesday night.
