Newspapers that recently endorsed Barack Obama for president include the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the San Francisco Chronicle, and La Opinion/La Prensa, the largest Spanish-language newspaper in New York City.
Interestingly, they are all in areas likely to vote solidly for Obama anyway. Chicago is Obama's hometown, though the Tribune's endorsement of a Democrat for president was its first ever. Even the Washington Post, much of whose circulation is in battleground Virginia, is distributed largely in northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, all areas where voters are expected to favor Obama.
Major newspapers in battleground states such as Missouri, Ohio and Florida have yet to endorse.
