Round-up of Daily Violence - Wednesday 11 June 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol at Al-Mission complex in Karrada neighborhood (east Baghdad). One police was killed and seven others were injured.

- A roadside bomb detonated near the knitting and textiles in Kadhemiyah neighborhood (north Baghdad) . Five people were killed and ten others were injured.

- A roadside bomb detonated in Binouk neighborhood (east Baghdad) .Two people were wounded.

4 unidentified bodies were found in Baghdad by Iraqi Police today. 1 in Amin; 1 in al-Obaidi; 1 in Washash and 1 in Hurriyah.


- 1 policeman killed and 4 injured when an IED targeted them on the main route between Kut and Baghdad this morning.


-A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol at Al-Tayran square in Kirkuk city. 6 people were injured

- The social and religious committee in Kirkuk city council buried 4 unidentified dead bodies including one for a woman.
