Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Friday 11 January 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is complied by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- Around 6 p.m., a suicide car bomb exploded at Maysloon square ( east Baghdad) killing two people and injuring eight others.

- Police found ( 3 ) unidentified dead bodies in the following neighborhoods in Baghdad: ( 2 ) were found in west Baghdad ( Karkh bank) ; 1 in Iskan and 1 in Doura. While ( 1 ) was found in Kemb Sara in east Baghdad ( Risafa bank).

Salahuddin

- Friday morning, a joint forces of police and army raided an area to the west of Samara arresting 11 members of Al-Qaeda organization while the twelfth one was wearing a vest filled with explosives who exploded himself whose name was Abu Qutada Al-Siwidi , one of the wanted leaders of Al-Qaeda.

Diyala

- Friday morning , a joint forces ( American army , Iraqi army and Sahwa ( Awakening council) finishing their operation in Muqdadiya ( 36 km north east of Baquba ) in six of its villages clearing the area from Al-Qaeda arresting 20 ( ten of them are wanted while the others are suspected) and killing ten others.
