Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq Thursday 8 November 2007

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


Three Iraqi soldiers were wounded in an IED explosion that targeted their patrol in New Baghdad neighborhood east Baghdad around 10,15 am.

1 mortar shell fell on al-Adhamiyah Palace which is used as an American military base. No casualties were reported.

4 unidentified bodies were found in Baghdad today. 1 in Zafaraniyah, 1 in Shoala, 1 in Amil and 1 in Mansour.


Four civilians were wounded when a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest attacked a café in Hibhib town west of Baquba city around 1,00 pm.


An IED exploded targeting the motorcade of Director of Education of Basra, Qahtan al-Musawi. Musawi was not travelling with the motorcade, but 2 civilians were injured.
