Round-up of daily violence - Thursday 27 September 2007

The daily Iraq violence report is complied by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- Around 11 a.m., a roadside bomb exploded at Sinaa street near Technology University(east Baghdad) killing one woman.

- Around 12 p.m., a car bomb exploded at New Baghdad ( east Baghdad) killing 2 people and injuring 4 others.

- Around 5 p.m., clashes took place at Mehdia in Doura neighborhood ( south Baghdad) between gunmen and police commandos . No casualties reported as the area closed till the time of this report.

- Police found 9 unidentified dead bodies in the following neighborhoods in Baghdad: (6) were found in west Baghdad ( Karkh bank) ; 2 in Doura , 2 in Hurriyah , 1 in Bayaa and 1 in Amil. While (3) were found in east Baghdad ( Risafa bank) ; 2 in Sadr city and 1 in Ur.
